Heckler & Koch G3
Welcome to Heckler & Koch G3
The last Nazi German Rifle Technology Design that became the Heckler & Koch Gewehr (Rifle) 3.
An Assault Rifle or Battle Rifle with the 7.62mm x 51mm Round NATO Calibre.
Going back 32 Years into the past when I was 21 Years Old in the Mandatory Portuguese Army Infantry during the Boot Camp I recall having a HK G3 in my hands during a Military Exercise at the Training Range to fire 5 Single Rounds.
Only 5 Rounds because back in 1993 and even now Portugal has more Officers and Sergeants than Rifles and Ammunitions.
It should’ve been 20 Rounds a Full Magazine to be able to fire Single and Automatic Rounds but what counted then was the experience.
I remember that I was mentally prepared for the kick of the Weapon after seeing so many War Movies through my Teenager Years so I adjusted the back of the Weapon to my shoulder yet it surprised me, the force of the Recoil was really intense.
After the 3 Months of Boot Camp I’ve served 1 Month inside a Military Prison.
During those long night shifts patrolling the External Perimeter of the Military Prison I had a fully loaded HK G3 with 20 Rounds plus an extra Magazine with 20 Rounds to prevent Prisoners from escaping.
I frequently removed the Safety of the Weapon and moved it to the safe position again or removed the Magazine to look at the Rounds and loaded the Magazine back in or looked at the Round already chambered or removed it and loaded back into the Magazine or pointed the Weapon with the safety on to the External Perimeter to have a lamp in my sight of the Weapon.
Gladly I never had a reason to fire the Weapon at anyone.
