My DNA
Welcome to My DNA
This is My DNA Ancestry Test from 23andMe that I’ve made back in 2017.
Being European didn’t surprised me it was expected what surprised me was the European Diversity.
The Portuguese and Spanish DNA was highly expected but the Italian DNA not so much yet it makes sense the Romans invaded the Iberian Peninsula and occupied Portugal and Spain for around 600 Years from the 3rd - 2nd Century BC to the 3rd - 5th Century AC.
The Italian Island of Sardinia appeared out of nowhere.
The British and Irish DNA was unexpected yet it makes sense the Celtic Tribes invaded and settled in the Iberian Peninsula mostly in the North of Portugal and Spain dating back to the Bronze Age.
The German and French DNA was unexpected yet it makes sense the Germanic Tribes invaded and settled in the Iberian Peninsula in the 5th Century AC and later with the Migration/Intermarriage with the Franks.
The Ashkenazi Jewish DNA despite small was also unexpected yet it makes sense it spread across Europe from the Rhine Valley in Germany in the Middle Ages, Ashkenaz means Germany in Hebrew.
The other small amounts of DNA like Angolan and Congolese weren’t expected despite being born in Angola and Congo borders Angola in the North.
The North African and Arabian like most of my Non Iberian DNA come from invasion and settlement rather then being Indigenous, Arabs invaded and settled in the Iberian Peninsula and remain in Portugal and Spain for around 800 Years from the 8th Century AC to the 15th Century AC.
